Community Wellness at Anchor Point House

The Barge Preservation Community Group has proudly secured a space within a closed hospital in Lowestoft, allowing us to transform it through essential renovation work and gardening, which the building greatly needed.

This community hub, known as Anchor Point House, will host a variety of holistic workshops led by professionals who generously volunteer their time to support our mission.

12-Week Courses

Anchor Point will offer 12-week courses for community residents who are most at risk, aiming to transform their lives by focusing on the pillars of identity and purpose.

We will update with launch date soon

Identity

Pillar One of our 12 week program

Participants will engage in activities designed to address underlying mental health issues, guided by trained psychiatrists. Workshops will include:

- Yoga

- Meditation

- Mindfulness therapy

- Sound baths

- Vibration therapy

- Beauty therapy

- Deep tissue therapy

- Arts and crafts workshops

Purpose

Pillar Two of our 12 week program

The purpose pillar will be implemented in three main ways:

1. Gaining Placement Opportunities: As part of the application process for the course, participants will commit to achieving a placement in either voluntary or paid work, further education, or self-employment by the end of the 12 weeks. This requirement will help measure the success of the project.

2. Community Outreach: Our outreach efforts will include assisting elderly residents with housing repairs and supporting young people in their educational journeys. We also plan to take local children's homes out on enriching day trips.

3. Celebrating Completion: Upon finishing the course, participants will enjoy an attendance-based day trip, celebrating their accomplishments and encouraging continued engagement in community activities.
